Analytical Chemist

We are looking for a Analytical Chemist to join the Inbiose team in Ghent, Belgium.

About the job:

You will work in the analytical department which is responsible to identify and quantify glycans as well as other components important for the strains development. The team develops and implement the newest technologies and is highly experienced in carbohydrate analysis. To expand the team we are searching for an enthusiastic analytical chemist.

Your profile:

• You have a BSc or MSc in (bio)chemistry or equivalent

• You have a first relevant experience with chromatographic, analytical techniques (UPLC, HPLC, LC-MS, ionchromatography)

• You want to work in a stimulating and supportive R&D environment

• You are willing to learn new techniques and expand your knowledge

• You are flexible and a team player, but can work independently

• You have an eye for detail, work accurately and aim for qualitative work

• You are communicative and have a hands-on approach

• You are capable to manage multiple experiments within a single day

• You are fluent in English

• You are proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook or equivalent

• Knowledge about Empower and Chromeleon is a plus

• Knowledge about complex carbohydrate analytics is a plus

Responsibilities:

• You will operate multiple state-of-the-art analytical equipment (eg UPLC, HPAEC, LC-MS,... depending on experience) on a daily basis

• You will be involved in both routine analysis as in experimental work and new method development

• You will be involved in repair and maintenance of analytical equipment

• You will contribute to the development and implementation of research strategies

• You will take on general laboratory responsibilities and apply organizational and creative skills to improve lab operations

• You will maintain safe practices and work environment
