Key responsibilities

Agilent Technologies is developing a range of innovative, cloud-based software products for analysis and interpretation of human genetic data generated by its test kits. As a member of the bioinformatics software development team, you will participate in the following activities:

  • Development of software algorithms and tools for the analysis and interpretation of NGS data.

  • Analyse next-generation sequencing (NGS) data in support of ongoing assay and bioinformatics pipeline development.

  • Create and validate bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data analysis.

  • Keep track of ongoing changes and advancements in the bioinformatics landscape

  • Encapsulate analysis pipelines in a scalable and robust production software environment.

  • Software engineering and software life cycle management.

Option to Work Remote

Open to remote work for 1 to 2 days per week.



PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biology, (Bio) engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Chemistry or similar by experience.

  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience within biostatistics, bioinformatics and data analysis.

  • Deep understanding of NGS technologies and profound working experience with the different flavors of (structural) variant calling in a targeted, exome and/or whole-genome context.

  • Statistical NGS data analysis and modeling experience is recommended.

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R is a must.

  • Proven expertise in human cancer genomics and genetics.

  • Ability to write high-quality technical documents in English.

  • Team player with good communication skills.
