What we need
Data Intuitive is embarking on a new chapter and is seeking a highly-skilled, scientifically minded IT professional to join our team. The team meets in the region of Ghent at a shared working space at key times throughout the year.
Job requirements
Understanding of fundamental biological principles
A degree in bioinformatics, software engineering, computational biology, or other degree or proven experience in line with the requirements for this job
Strong analytical skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Independent and team player
Driven by a technological curiosity and desire to make things better
Fluent in English
Technical requirements
Scripting languages (shell, python, R, etc.)
Using Git and GitHub (creating branches, pull requests, managing issues, github actions)
Modern workflow management systems (Nextflow, Snakemake, …)
Containerisation (Docker, Podman, or Singularity)
Data wrangling tabular/structured data (tidyverse or pandas)
Linux-based operating systems, libraries and tools
Writing documentation in Markdown
Nice to have knowledge
High-performance computing environment
Cloud computing
Single-cell omics (scRNA-seq, multi-omics)
