Clinical Operations Assistant

Our partners innovate to bring treatments to their patients that significantly improve their lives. Together with the government and other health partners, they are working towards qualitative, affordable and accessible healthcare.

For our pharmaceutical partner we are currently looking for a Clinical Operations Assistant who participates in all pharmaceutical activities of the Clinical Research Unit including:

  • supply of packaging materials, commercially available medicinal products, clinical labels;

  • labeling of materials with expiry date revisions;

  • receipt of IMPs;

  • preparation, dispensing, reconstitution and packaging of individual subject doses in accordance with instructions and GMP;

  • removal and preservation of reference and/or retention samples;

  • storage of individual subject doses;

  • storage of executed instructions and associated documents;

  • return of unused IMPs;

  • destruction of unused/returned IMPs;

  • recall of commercialized medication in Belgium used at the PCRU.

What are your responsibilities?

As a Clinical Operations Assistant you assist the Clinical Research Pharmacist in the following activities:

  • ensure that clinical trials are conducted in accordance with scientific, medical and ethical principles and within regulatory requirements/guidelines;

  • perform accurate accountability and documentation from the point of receipt, preparation, dispensing to disposal/ transfer for drugs and hazardous substances;

  • ensure proper handling, control, storage and disposal of drugs and hazardous substances according to EHS (Environment, Health and Safety);

  • ensure pharmacy preparation & drug storage areas meet the EHS in terms of cleanliness, temperature and humidity control, security etc.;

  • ensure calibration, maintenance and cleaning of premises, instruments and equipment according to the EHS;

  • source and procure pharmacy equipment, consumables, drugs, hazardous substances;

  • participate in training courses as appropriate;

  • assist in the training of PCRU staff and contractors with less experience and expertise.

Who are you?

  • Bachelor degree with a scientific background (biomedical, pharmacy,…) or equivalent by experience

  • Knowledge of Clinical Operations/Pharmacy and GMP

  • French or Dutch knowledge – Good level of English (written and oral)

  • Teamwork experience
