About the opportunity

Join Sanofi as a Data Management Team Leader (DMTL) in Belgium. You will lead a regionally based team (Ghent site) ensuring that the Clinical Data Management (CDM) activities assigned to your team are completed according to agreed standards at global, TA and Product Level, timelines, and quality/performance targets. You will work with innovative technology across therapeutical areas, focussing on Sanofi’s phase 1 portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will…

  • Manage a team of Study Data Managers (SDMs).

  • Act as a single Data Management point of accountability for the execution data management activities for specific clinical studies / programs assigned to your team.

  • Ensure the training, mentoring, engagement, development, and recognition of your team members to maximize their potential, performance, and overall success.

  • Assist the DM Group Leader with resource optimization based on the portfolio risk adjustments, team member competencies, and core project milestones.

  • Drive and support your team planning and deliver strong study execution operational plans based on best data management practices and robust risk management strategies.

  • Ensure operational consistency, alignment and identifying synergies across assigned studies and programs.

  • Define and implement vendor oversight strategies tailored for the insourcing/outsourcing scope and model.

  • Participate in global harmonization and optimization of operational processes and standards and foster innovation and continuous improvement.

About you

Qualifications/Education & work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific and/or medical field and a minimum of 8 years’ strong experience in clinical data management in the pharmaceutical industry (or equivalent).

  • Experienced in successful vendor management and outsourcing oversight.

  • Knowledge of local Human Resource regulations and policies.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience in RAVE, Medidata preferred.

  • Experience and medical knowledge in relevant therapeutic area (Early Development) preferred.

  • Understanding of the impact of eSources on data flows and processes preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written) with a customer focus mentality.

  • Ability to efficiently implement management vision and decisions. Ability to rally a team behind the management vision and/or decisions to maintain a high level of engagement.

  • Strong project management skills and experience. Anticipate delivery risks, bottlenecks, issues, and delays to proactively prevent them or minimize their impact across multiple studies and programs.

  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, efficiency in matrix organization, strong ability to effectively handle large and complicated global projects.

  • Ability to effectively serve as a change management agent.

  • Strong English skills (verbal and written) i.e., ability to exchange fluently (incl. negotiation). Dutch preferred.
