About the Opportunity

As Facility & Security Manager you will manage the Facility Management (FM) and Security function and Logistics department at the Sanofi Ghent site in its daily operations. Part of your responsibilities will be to lead the sub-teams to ensure the buildings and associated services meet the needs of the occupants and users (FM & Security). You will manage the day-to-day in the Logistics group and cover the Warehouse operation. This role is a great opportunity for somebody who likes to be hands-on and had good communication skills as in this role you will have a lot of interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Security

• Ensure the optimal management and use of the facilities for R&D and general departments

• Drive and manage specific renovation, refurbishment of office/lab moves, contribute to the design of new labs from a technical/FM perspective as applicable

• Manage the maintenance and inspection of the lab equipment to guarantee an optimal balance between cost, level of operationality (Lab asset maintenance & repair program) and contractor management

• Manage security of the building (through reception services and external support of G4S)

• Act as “on-call” person for security alarms with your team

• Collaboration:

  • Provide HSE support on facility matters (e.g. machinery & equipment safety, emergency planning)

  • Actively participate in the HSE management of change process during refurbishments and renovations

  • Advise on energy efficiency measures where appropriate in conjunction with landlord

  • Maintain a good relationship with the landlord facility manager to allow optimal functioning of the building’s technical infrastructure

• Manage reception of contractors and follow up of work permits for high-risk activities (LOTO, working at height, work in ATEX zone, ...)

Logistics & Warehouse

• Manage day-to-day operations for the Logistics group responsible for incoming & outgoing (sample) shipments in collaboration with the global Sanofi Center of Excellence.

• Liaise with Procurement and other departments to cover the externalized Warehouse (ThermoFisher staff) to guarantee optimal supply to various labs in terms of Lab supplies & consumables

About you

Education / Experience 

• Expected educational qualifications: Bachelor's or Master’s degree

• 6+ years experience in Facilities Management or related discipline; Life Science industry as a clear plus

Skills & experience

• Experience in HSE and related matters is a plus 

• Fluent in Dutch (native preferred) and English, both written and oral

• MS Office, SharePoint
