(Junior) Scientist - High-Throughput Cloning and Protein Analysis

PUXANO is seeking a motivated and talented (Junior) Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in protein engineering, (high-throughput) cloning, protein expression in different cell types, protein purification, and protein analysis. This role will provide an opportunity to work with automation tools and contribute to optimizing experimental workflows.

Position Overview:

PUXANO is seeking a motivated and talented (Junior) Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will have expertise in protein engineering, (high-throughput) cloning, protein expression in different cell types, protein purification, and protein analysis. This role will provide an opportunity to work with automation tools and contribute to optimizing experimental workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

-High-Throughput Cloning and Expression:

• Assist in high-throughput cloning projects to generate expression constructs for various protein targets.

• Support optimization of protein expression protocols in different host systems to maximize yield and functionality.

• Participate in the implementation of automation technologies to enhance throughput and reproducibility.

-Protein Purification and Analysis:

• Support the development and execution of purification strategies for recombinant proteins using chromatography and other purification techniques.

• Assist in protein characterization and quality control using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, BLI (Biolayer Interferometry), and MALLS (Multi-Angle Laser Light Scattering).

• Contribute to binding interaction studies to evaluate protein functionality and interaction kinetics.

-Automation and Workflow Optimization:

• Learn and utilize multiwell plate robots and other automation tools to streamline protein expression, purification, and analysis workflows.

• Help assess and implement new automation technologies to improve efficiency and data quality.

• Collaborate with senior staff to understand and use automation equipment and protocols.

-Research and Innovation:

• Stay updated on the latest scientific advancements in protein expression, purification, and analysis.

• Contribute to innovative research projects aimed at advancing PUXANO's capabilities and offerings.

-Collaboration and Communication:

• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Pharma and Biotech partners.

• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.

• Foundational experience in cloning and protein expression in different host systems.

• Basic expertise in protein purification and analysis using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, BLI, and MALLS.

• Interest in automation and the use of multiwell plate robots.

• Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn and contribute to innovative research.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with structural biology techniques such as cryo-electron microscopy.

• Knowledge of bioinformatics tools for protein design and analysis.

• Previous experience in the Pharma or Biotech industry.
