BioMARIC is a Belgian Biotech company involved in research and development for the prevention of human infectious diseases and which is continuously investing in the development of new and innovative biomaterials to prepare for the next generations of IVD assays. 

Function description 

As laboratory and administrative collaborator, you enable and enhance laboratory workflows by ensuring continuity in the products stocks and proper function of the laboratory. You will also be the first contact person for visitors and suppliers.  You will work initially under supervision, but the goal is to grow into working independently.  

 

Your main responsibilities are as follows: 

  • Preparation of buffers for general use and on request from colleagues  

  • Maintain and optimise the laboratory stocks. Controlling the stock levels, ordering of the products, mailing and calling the suppliers, registration of the arrived products and replenishing the stocks.      

  • Planning/Performing the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment 

  • Liaising with equipment suppliers when equipment is defective and needs repair.   

  • Responsible for general cleanliness in the non-lab areas of the company and 1st point of contact for the cleaning responsible  

  • Responsible for waste management. 

  • Assist in updating of selected databases. 

  • Reception of visitors and deliveries 

Profile 

  • Professional Bachelor in life sciences, chemistry or similar 

  • Experience in a similar position and in laboratory environment is a plus.  

  • Experience in an ISO-qualified company is a plus. 

  • Knowledge of Excel and Word 

  • Good written and spoken communication skills  

  • Good Knowledge of English 

  • Knowledge of Dutch is a plus 

  • Rigorous, detail-oriented, autonomous, multitasker and committed 

  • Strong team spirit and excellent interpersonal skills
