We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative scientist to help us carry out the research and development of novel and superior agricultural biological products. To strengthen its development team, Aphea.Bio is looking for a Laboratory scientist. Apart from carrying out laboratory experiments, you will also process data and be responsible for laboratory machines and upkeep.

Main Responsibilities

  • Set-up and preform laboratory experiments

  • Assist and perform routine analysis of microbial crop protection products

  • Testing equipment and documenting data

  • Achieving project goals using technical, role-specific skills and experience

  • Introducing new procedures for instrument methods, equipment changes, or new equipment

  • Management, maintenance and troubleshooting of specific laboratory equipment.

  • Provide support to ensure smooth operations in the lab (plastic and reagent management, help maintain a clean and safe environment).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience with liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry

  • You have a Master degree or PhD related to (bio)chemistry

  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records and follow protocols

  • Experience with flowcytometry is a plus

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

Other skills:

  • Computer skills: proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel applications

  • You are fluent in (Dutch and) English, both written and verbal

  • You are dynamic, flexible and committed to results

  • You combine a scientific background with a hands-on attitude

  • You possess good communication skills
