This position will be embedded within the Interdisciplinary Research Group (IOG) of the Institute for Nuclear and Radiation Physics, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Faculty of Science, Group Science & Technology. The IOG is led by Prof Thomas Elias Cocolios and consists in a team of 1 post-doc, 8 PhD students, and 4 Master students performing research on and with radioactive ion beams. The group has two major research lines: the production and purification of radioisotopes for medical applications and the study of ground-state properties of radioisotopes for nuclear structure investigations. This position would be directly linked with the medical applications of the research team. The position is furthermore part of PRISMAP – The European medical isotope programme. This Horizon 2020 project is a consortium of 23 academic and research partners, led by CERN and featuring many research centers (e.g. SCK CEN in Mol) and university hospital (e.g. Gasthuisberg) to support the research into novel medical radioisotopes.
