Protein Manufacturing Scientist
Protein Manufacturing Scientist
Pleinlaan 2, Brussels, Belgium
Precirix is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to extending and improving the lives of cancer patients by designing and developing novel radiopharmaceuticals, using camelid-derived single-domain antibodies (sdAb) labeled with radioisotopes. The company’s lead product, CAM-H2, is being evaluated in a Phase I/II trial targeting metastatic HER2-positive cancer. In addition, the company has two product candidates in preclinical stage and is further broadening its platform through research on isotopes, linker technology and combination therapies.
For the expansion of our Protein Science team based in Brussels, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and talented Scientist.
Purpose of the position
As a Protein Manufacturing Scientist, you will be involved in the development, manufacturing and characterization of camelid single-domain antibodies (sdAbs) to feed the company’s clinical pipeline of targeted radionuclide therapeutics.
You will be responsible for projects that focus on process development and characterization for (clinical) sdAb manufacturing (strain development, USP, DSP, formulation). Also, you will contribute to analytical assay development (IPC, QC) and sdAb characterization.
Responsible to originate, plan and execute research activities within the scope of an assigned work package and timing.
Collaborate with CROs and CDMOs, and support technology transfer for upscaling activities and (clinical) manufacturing.
Conduct experiments and contribute to the good functioning of the lab.
Act as a subject matter expert in CMC aspects of protein manufacturing and characterization (science and methodology). Suggest new methodologies and approaches, and provide project support to other scientific teams within the company.
Active in multiple projects inside the company.
Independently interpret, document, retain and summarize experimental data and results in adequate systems (e.g. electronic lab notebooks and databases).
Report (writing and orally) project progress and conclusions to the R&D leadership team.
Report data and results during recurring team meetings.
Actively contribute to multi-disciplinary discussions between different scientific teams.
Review data, written reports, and other documents from partner sites.
Skills, Expertise and Contribution
Relevant experience in molecular biology is a must.
Experience in upscaling a recombinant protein manufacturing process (USP, DSP) from lab scale to clinical scale, or analytical characterization of the recombinant protein is a plus.
Keep abreast with relevant scientific and/or technical developments. Search literature and other sources independently and apply knowledge on the job.
