(SENIOR) SCIENTIST LC & LC-MS WITH SMALL MOLECULE EXPERIENCE & A BIG HEART FOR SCIENCE

  • In-depth scientific understanding of LC based separation of small molecules

  • Proven LC method development skills

  • Experienced in sample preparation (liquid extraction, SPE, derivatization, etc.) methodologies for small molecules

  • Hands-on experience with LC data processing using vendor or other software

  • Hands-on experience with detection techniques such as UV, FLD, ELSD and RI

  • Experience in mass spectrometry is a must

  • Critical mindset and a good sense of initiative and attention to quality and detail

  • Team player, customer-minded, problem-solving mindset and flexible attitude

  • Great communicator with excellent writing/reporting skills

  • Able to multitask and tackle complex scientific questions in a largely independent manner

  • Comfortable interacting with customers (discussing requests, negotiating scope, presenting results)

  • Fluent in English (written & oral)

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy or equivalent qualification due to experience

  • For Scientist, a minimum of +2 years of expertise in the field

  • For Senior Scientist, a minimum of +5 years of expertise in the field

 

SO WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • You develop and apply innovative liquid chromatography methodologies for the analysis, identification and quantification of small molecules (e.g. trace organic compounds, active pharmaceutical ingredients, metabolites) in various matrices (e.g. food, soil, water, formulations, buffers, biological fluids, tissue, cells).

  • You handle complex and scientifically challenging projects for our industrial (chemistry, environment, food, pharma, etc.) and academic partners.

  • You design and plan experiments, process experimental data, capture findings in reports and communicate to customers.

  • You coach team members and help them with experimental setups and ensure adequate reporting to the high company standard.

  • You interact with other scientists and team members to ensure proper project planning and execution.

  • You align with our management and our commercial team on strategic choices.

  • You provide regular updates to customers on project process and way forward.

  • You provide internal and external training in your field of expertise.
