The BCCM consortium aims to
acquire, preserve and distribute fungi, yeasts, diatoms, plasmids, DNA libraries & bacteria in its public collections,
identify and characterize these biological materials,
offer customer-oriented services, including preservation of cell lines, hybridomas, viruses, phages, microorganisms and plasmids in its confidential collections
increase the understanding of microorganisms and their function in ecosystems,
foster the application of biological resources.
The BCCM consortium unites 7 decentralised biological resource centres with complementary expertise:
