The BCCM consortium aims to

  • acquire, preserve and distribute fungi, yeasts, diatoms, plasmids, DNA libraries & bacteria in its public collections,

  • identify and characterize these biological materials,

  • offer customer-oriented services, including preservation of cell lines, hybridomas, viruses, phages, microorganisms and plasmids in its confidential collections

  • increase the understanding of microorganisms and their function in ecosystems,

  • foster the application of biological resources.
