As part of its expansion, Voxdale, the award-winning design and engineering studio selected Eindhoven and the Brainport region for its first Dutch branch. The High Tech Campus Eindhoven, the smartest square kilometre in the heart of Europe, is part of a vibrant ecosystem of open innovation with ‘triple helix’ collaboration between the business community, knowledge institutions and the government.

"The future of the Dutch and Belgian economy lies in innovation and technological development. Eindhoven is a hotspot for start-ups, scale-ups, large companies, universities and research institutions. Voxdale brings enormous added value to Dutch start-ups and universities, who are also focused on developing innovations and technologies that have a positive impact," says Tim Dieryckx, CEO Voxdale.

Voxdale's mission is to accelerate the development of better hardware and software to improve health, combat climate change or protect our planet. Last February, Voxdale won a prestigious Gold 'Business Innovation' Henry van de Velde Award for medical ICU device Morphemat® for Ergotrics.

Expansion of Voxdale's Dutch activities

Stephan Sterrenburg started this spring with the expansion of the Dutch team and is the main point of contact for Dutch companies. As a driven entrepreneur born and raised in North Brabant, he joins Voxdale from the VDL Groep.

"Stephan brings decades of experience in developing and building hardware and IoT devices with great companies such as VDL. He knows how to effectively make the move from a prototype to production. He is very familiar with the Dutch start-up landscape and hardware product companies. His Dutch pragmatism and commitment are a good fit for Voxdale’s culture. Stephan likes to think along with customers about technology – from concept to prototype to large-scale production," says Tim Dieryckx, CEO Voxdale.

Strong demand for engineering capacity in Brainport region

The Dutch branch of Voxdale in Eindhoven will work closely with the other Voxdale hubs in Antwerp, Ghent (Belgium) and Berlin (Germany) and wants to grow together with the innovative Brainport region.

"There is a great need for engineering capacity at HTCE and in the Brainport region, both at start-ups, large multinationals and market leaders in the manufacturing and high-tech industry," says Jan-Willem Neggers, Managing Director of High Tech Campus Eindhoven. "We welcome partners who strengthen the innovation process at these companies with the necessary structure and a solid action plan."

Accelerating development and scalability

To transition faster from the initial concept and prototyping towards series production, Voxdale takes on the engineering coupled with supply chain and design for manufacturing.

"Our added value lies in the fact that we are already proactively thinking about the steps beyond the assignment at hand. Where others tend to stop, Voxdale thinks ahead. That is only possible if we already consider and implement future steps during the design and prototyping phases," says Stephan Sterrenburg, Director Voxdale Netherlands. "We are now bringing our ‘Faster Forward Together’ mentality also to the Netherlands."

Design engineers and product developers wanted

As part of its expansion to the Netherlands, Voxdale is hiring multiple technical experts for its new Eindhoven branch: product designers and engineers in varying fields such as mechanical design, systems, electromechanics, medical equipment and embedded hardware or software.

"We are looking for people with a passion for hardware and IoT development. At Voxdale, you get freedom and autonomy. You work with smart people who – just like yourself – are curious and in for a challenge. Together we create an environment with a positive vibe where you can fully develop yourself," says Stephan Sterrenburg, Directeur Voxdale Netherlands.
