In this exciting role as Campus R&D Communications Manager within our Janssen Benelux Communication and Public Affairs team you are responsible for driving and implementing the R&D communication strategy to support the objectives of the Janssen Campus in Belgium & The Netherlands and the Benelux R&D Council. You'll build the profile and reputation of the Belgian R&D Campus as innovation powerhouse in our research areas of focus.

Your Key Responsibilities:

R&D Communications

• Drive and implement R&D focused external and internal communication activities and programs in close collaboration with campus, regional and global communication

• Lead local engagement activation initiatives for R&D including major events (such as the dr. Paul Janssen Award for Biomedical Research, the dr. Guislain Award, Knowledge for Growth, Healthy Ideas Healthy Returns, Innovation for Health)

• Lead communications for high-profile R&D-related visits to the Belgian Campus

Act As Trusted Communication Advisor

• Develop positive relationships with business leaders and act as a trusted enabler and executor of projects

• Serve as a strategic advisor for the Belgian R&D leadership, the Benelux R&D Council, our strategic alliances and data science

Drive Stakeholder Trust And Advocacy By Supporting And Implementing Effective Communication Strategies

• Acquire and apply knowledge from internal and external networks; multi-stakeholder insights; and develop a broad understanding of the business, competitive and industry priorities

• Translate our scientific position into audience oriented messaging to shape the environment for R&D in Benelux, including issue management

• Support the implementation of an executive leadership and engagement strategy, positioning senior leaders with key audiences

• Support media management with research and the creation of messages and message maps

• Drive employee engagement and advocacy by supporting effective workforce communication

Lead With A One Team Mindset

• Model and lead with a One Team mentality to unify, collaborate and aim for the best enterprise outcomes

• Partner closely with Corporate, Therapeutic Area Communication and Stakeholder Engagement to ensure integrated, flawless, consistent enterprise-wide communication programs

• Model and inspire continuous improvement to ensure you and the team stay on the cutting edge of communications, change management, technology, social and other key trends

• Develop and apply outstanding written, oral and visual communications in a variety of styles and formats

• Promote diversity and inclusion at all times

• Show curiosity and volunteer for project work to add to your skills and contact network and develop into a future sector and enterprise communication leader

Skills And Competencies Required:

to be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.

• A master’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Business, or a related field combined with experience in a scientific environment

• A minimum of 7 years of communication experience with senior level engagement and high degree of independent judgment

• Proficient in Dutch and English (spoken and written)

• Strategic insight, strong personal leadership skills, detail oriented and outstanding writing skills in English and Dutch are required.

Skills And Competentcies Preferred:

• background in a health care setting or industry (association)

• experience in working with and managing consultants and budgets
