To strengthen our valuable team of dedicated employees in Belgium, Biotalys is looking for a Lab Assistant (80%-100%).

Scope of your job

·        Responsible person of the lab kitchen (e.g. timely washing and autoclaving of lab materials)

·        Supporting lab technicians in the preparation of analyses to be performed

·        Preparation of growth media, buffers, nutrient media, reagents and stock management

·        Practical support in the preparation and management of glycerol stocks

·        Perform streak plating for single colony isolation

·        Maintaining general stock and timely ordering of products and reagents

·        Support the team involved in insect rearing and maintenance of the plant growth chamber

What we are looking for

·        You like practical work, work accurately and have an eye for detail

·        You have a friendly, open attitude and are customer- and service-oriented by nature

·        You are communicative, flexible and can work independently within a dynamic team

·        You are preferably familiar with working in a laboratory environment and sterile work

·        You are fluent in English or Dutch, both speaking and writing. For Dutch speaking applicants, a profound knowledge of English is required

·        At least a TSO diploma in laboratory techniques, chemistry or familiar
