Quality and Lab Manager

For our location at the University of Hasselt campus in Diepenbeek, Belgium, we are seeking a Quality and Lab Manager, to join our team in the field of plant molecular farming. As our Quality & Lab Manager, you take responsibility for providing support with quality projects in our lab and our pilot scale facility as well as achieve optimization of quality within the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in the production of valuable proteins and compounds through plant-based systems.

Result Areas:

• Quality management:

  • In your first year you will work towards a successful ISO certification

  • Combine project QA, routine QA as well as QMS

  • Continue to build a strong Quality management system assisted by our internal LIMS 

  • Ensure validation protocols are in place and SOPs are being written and validated

  • Review on a continuous basis and ensure review procedures are in place

  • Apply GMP and GAP in quality manual and procedures and make sure it is being applied by all scientific personnel 

  • Prepare for and ensure audits

  • Perform complex technical quality controls on both base materials and finished products and regularly produce reports of the results of those controls to ensure that the quality of the products is consistent

• Facilities: 

  • Ensure inventory management and supply management in our lab and pilot scale facility

  • Both organize and supervise maintenance, 

  • Ensure the facility complies with all relevant regulations inc. safety

• Regulatory

  • Build a strong network and  stay well-informed on scientific, regulatory and quality evolution in our field

  • Maintain both external and internal contacts to ensure that efficiency and collaboration are optimal

• You work with the newest software tools available on the market

Requirements:

• Master in Biology, Bioengineering or Biochemistry. 5 years of experience of which at least a first professional experience in a quality function in a GMP environment

• Thorough knowledge of GMP

• Experience with ISO certification

• Punctual

• Problem solver

• Flexible in content combining different types of QA and lab work as well as supporting different projects running simutaneously
