Animab is actively recruiting a Research Associate to strengthen its R&D team in

Zwijnaarde. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion and curiosity for research.

The position reports directly to the Scientific Director and the Technical & Regulatory

Director.

Purpose

Conducting research in developing oral monoclonal antibodies for livestock

Major responsibilities

Develop expression strains

Analyse expression of antibodies generated in-house and by external partner labs

Maintain clear lab records (experiments, SOP, strain inventories, etc.)

Organising the lab and experiments (including maintaining glycerol stocks)

Maintaining product stock inventories and orders

Facilitate material transfer with external labs

Present and discuss results within the team

Training

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology (or equivalent)

Experience in designing and generation of expression vectors and yeast expression stain

development

Analytical assays for protein quantification and charecterization

Molecular biology techniques such as real-time PCR and culture work are a plus

Knowledge and skills

• More than 2 year experience working in a (Biotech) research lab environment

• Lab management

• Team player

• Able to work independently with a strong problem-solving attitude

• Protein expression analysis with ELISA and PAGE-based techniques

• Bioinformatics basic skills

• Basic knowledge of Excel, Word and image annotation software

• Knowledge of English (spoken and written)
