Job description

BioMARIC NV is currently looking for a Scientist R&D to strengthen its R&D Department. We expect the new colleague to have an explorative mind and be eager to be involved in a variety of scientific activities, required for the development of new innovative biomaterials and related IVD assays.

Responsibilities

·         Conduct and support scientific experiments with minimal supervision, in collaboration with the Principal scientists,

·         Make detailed observations, interpret technical quality of data and perform data analysis,

·         Maintain complete and accurate records and independently write technical reports,

·         Participate in cross functional project team activities and effectively present and discuss data within the department and at cross functional team meetings,

·         Expand your project-related knowledge and professional expertise through literature or consulting scientific staff,

·         Take full responsibility for the optimal functioning of the assigned lab equipment,  

·         Train colleagues on the equipment under your supervision (in depth understanding of the working and software connected to the specific equipment),

·         Actively communicate and follow-up issues related to the GLP status of the laboratory and actively participate in specific laboratory activities to secure optimal GLP status.

·         Follow the company’s work ethics and GLP procedures while ensuring continuous quality of the research activities,

Requirements:

·         Master’s degree in life sciences or equivalent through relevant experience,

·         Hands on experience in protein expression, protein purification and/or assay development (e.g. ELISA, CLIA, LFA),

·         Good knowledge of molecular biology, protein chemistry and purification is a plus,

·         Strong interest in immunoassay development and its applications,

·         Pro-active worker able to independently implement guidelines and procedures,

·         Strong organizational skills and sense for quality, accuracy, and detail,

·         Effective communication skills and fluent in English

·         Familiar with Microsoft Office applications

·         Enthusiastic, independent and self-motivated Team player able to excel in a multidisciplinary scientific team,
