TEAM LEAD - SENIOR SCIENTIST MASS SPECTROMETRY   WITH PROTEIN EXPERIENCE & A BIG HEART FOR SCIENCE

• LC-MS enthusiast who loves to make molecular elephants fly 😉 and knows how to crack the structural code of mAbs, bispecifics, ADCs, fusion proteins, enzymes, … 

• In-depth scientific understanding of protein LC-MS (top-down, middle-down and bottom-up analysis)  

• Hands-on experience with LC-MS data processing and structural characterization of proteins  

• Good knowledge of protein chemistry and protein separations  

• Proven method development skills   

• Demonstrated experience in coaching and leading a team of experts 

• Critical mindset and good sense for initiative and attention to quality and detail 

• Flexible team player and customer-oriented problem solver  

• Great communicator with excellent writing/reporting skills 

• Able to multitask and tackle complex scientific questions in a largely independent manner 

• Comfortable interacting with customers (discussing requests, finetuning scope, presenting results) 

• Dedicated to achieving project goals within scope, time and budget 

• Fluent in English (written & oral) 

• Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy or equivalent qualification due to experience 

• A minimum of 8 years expertise in the field 

YOUR ROLE... 🎯 

• You manage and support the projects within the protein MS team 

• You coach and assist team members in LC-MS based protein characterization and ensure adequate reporting to the high company standard 

• You scope new projects together with the customer and the commercial team 

• You interact with your team to ensure proper project planning and execution 

• You are responsible for training of new team members 

• You develop and apply innovative LC-MS methodologies for in-depth protein characterization at various development stages 

• You handle complex and scientifically challenging projects for our industrial (e.g. biotech and pharma) and academic partners 

• You design and plan experiments, process data, capture findings in reports and communicate with customers 

• You align with management and commercial team on strategic choices 

• You provide regular updates to customers on project process and way forward 

• You report to the Group Leader
