Following up the successful edition in May this year and traditionally kicking off the knowledge for growth conference, flanders.bio and VIB present you part two of their State of the Union.

In part one Jérôme Van Biervliet, Managing Director at VIB, talked about the importance of basic research and VIB as a source of innovation for the ecosystem. Kenneth Wils, Head of Life Sciences & Care at PMV, gave an overview of the private Belgian Biotech companies and Nathalie Van den Haute, Executive Director Corporate Finance at KBC Securities, of the listed companies. Only to bring everything together in a nice panel debate with representatives of flanders.bio and BioWin.

In part two, we kindly welcome Sofie Bracke, representing the city of Ghent, before giving the floor to Alexandra Zemp, Partner at McKinsey & Company, who will present the benchmark study on Innovation hotspots to drive the next act in Europe.
After our 5 Young Company Pitches, Claire Tillekaerts, CEO at Flanders Investment & Trade, will discuss the importance of the life sciences industry in Flanders and abroad. Jérôme Van Biervliet, Managing Director of VIB will close the official part of the State of the Union.

We end the evening with a reception where you’ll get the opportunity to network with speakers and other participants.
