Connected-Pathology, a Belgian start-up revolutionizing the future of digital histopathology has purchased novel Milestone equipment via the official Belgian partner and distributor of Milestone; Menarini Benelux. Driven by Milestone’s reliable track-and-trace instruments, this selection further enhances the start-up’s digitalized solutions. Additionally, the two companies have entered a long-term partnership enabling histopathology prototype testing. This partnership will ensure that Milestone instruments remain fit for purpose and that Connected-Pathology remains a forerunner in equipment designed to improve histopathology processing workflows.
The integration of an automated tissue processing unit and cassette scanner facilitates the company’s expansion toward automatized workflows. The LOGOS EVO automates the entire tissue processing workflow. Additionally, it functions as a both day and night processing unit, allowing Connected-Pathology’s clients to take advantage of this significant time-saving opportunity. The inclusion of an automated cassette tracker, the R-Tracker, will ensure accurate specimen documentation. Together, this automation equipment will allow the highly trained pathology staff easy and transparent access to high-quality samples, ready to be analysed with rapid turnaround times.
“Milestone’s LOGOS EVO was chosen due to its excellent ability to deliver a full track-and-trace tissue processing solution, including the grossing, embedding, and staining process. In turn, this results in a highly consistent sample processing, providing us with high-quality histopathological image data” explains Winde Beerden, Connected-Pathology’s project manager “In addition, we are always on the lookout for implementation of novel integrated data tracing solutions, which has been delivered by Milestone’s R-Tracker”.
Connected-Pathology focuses on creating integrated, reliable, and digitalized research solutions, meeting the current unmet demands and needs of histopathology research. The step toward automation of routine histopathology practices allows the start-up to establish an end-to-end digital histopathology workflow, resulting in high operational efficiency.
